A month ago I mention I was going to look at automating twitter to get more followers- Automated Twittering To Get More Followers?
There was a grand total of 15 people following my tweets so you can imagine how much I used the account. There's proof positive right there - just having the page is NOT enough! This is where Tweet Adder comes into the picture. Tried the demo, got 100 followers in a couple days and bought the software a week or so later.

Numbers like this are not easy to ignore because the clicks twitter generates are far more motivated than typical PPC clicks. They stick around longer, revisit more frequently. Far better to have 100 motivated eyes on your offer than 1000 hits to a landing page.
Long Story Short
Effective twitter marketing kicks ass! With a properly crafted system in place motivated visitors convert into prospects and leads far faster than PPC traffic.
I happen to really like lightbox for presentation and use it for images on a couple sites right now - but I wanted to add a lightbox effect for an order form on CTA

Dr. Jackie Black wanted to add some functionality to her blog to connect it to social networking sites so I installed the social bookmarking plugin via spartacus and selected a few of the ones we opted to link to... 35 seconds and done!
Next she wanted to add a few more with larger icons to link to Twitter with a Tweet This link, stumble upon with a stumble this icon and a couple others.
These were not included in the Serendipity plugin - so they cant just be enabled like the others.
Now for a brief moment I thought to myself - maybe wordpress has gotten better because I know for a fact that there are already plugins for everything.
But then I snapped out of it and remembered WHY I love Serendipity blogs - A little bit of smart goes a long way!
I just had to modify the existing plugin's code and paste it into the template for the entries and BAM - Social networking glory reached WITHOUT a plugin!
Tweet THAT wordpress!

This was easily overcome by using the following recipe snagged from the social networking plugin:
Serendipty uses the following snippets to create links for passing to social networks:

This can be found in the social bookmark plugin, for example:

Having missed the end of a show we like last week (that damn show american idol ran long)
So we headed over to hulu just a minute ago to see if we could catch the last few minutes of fringe and not only can you watch it - the video quaility is outstanding!
On a 22" widescreen it looked nice even at full screen!

First time I used Vista I could not stand it!
It was a 32bit ultimate something or other on a fairly snappy laptop. It sure was pretty - but a lot of the software I used under XP Pro would not run (older versions of adobe products mostly) at all.
*Newer versions do not have this conflict as far as I know, but I do know taht I didn't want to buy new software.
So a year or so goes buy and I go out and buy a new PC with the intention of wiping the drive to get rid of Vista and stick with trusty XP Pro; but it turns out this new rig is a 64 bit quad core so it is not the same Vista.
So far the most tricky thing I have had to figure out is how to fix active x controllers missing for Apple's Quicktime player.

Before that - anything that did not run was easy enough to fix by simply disabling the desktop composition when a program starts:
go to C:\Program Files (x86)\what_ever\ and right click on the program and under compatibility check "disable desktop composition or similar
I am building an Executive Coach Training website to promote the Rescue Institute on. This is a keyword based website meaning that I want it to rank well for a particular search and that's why I linked the words in this paragraph.
Google likes links that have words not website addresses or "click here" so if your links are not purpose driven like "click here to ..." then definitely do the site you are linking to the favor of using good keyword links.
I purchased a domain through godaddy.com and based on what I know about the coaching industry I wanted to use the words "executive coach training" in the website url, but that was already taken.
So here's the plan: I added -101 to coach-training and bought the domain coach-training-101.com and instead of using the www.coach-training-101.com as the site I am going to use http://executive.coach-training-101.com as the primary website so it has a better chance of ranking well for the keyword phrase "executive coach training"
The point I am making is if you know how domain names and urls work it really opens up your options. And if you do not know some of the tricks of the trade you could either spend years learning them like I did or you can join a club like SpinTheWeb.com and learn everything you need to know.
